The Queen Meije, the most southern of the historical summits of the Alps was the last to be climbed in 1877 by Gaspard father and son and Boileau de Castelnau. The normal route of the Meije is a great way to reach the summit of the Grand Pic 3984m, then continue on the traverse to the Doigt de Dieu 3973m.

The program

STEP 1 /

8:00 am - Meeting at our agency, contact with your guide and check of the equipment, then departure for a 4+ climbing route in the Ruitor valley, revision of the techniques and handling of the rope maneuvers.

STEP 2 /

8:00 am - We leave in the Valveny for a 4+ / 5 climb at the foot of the south face of the Mont-Blanc on granite slabs, then we walk to the superb Monzino hut 2590m where we spend the night

STEP 3 /

6h00 - After an easy approach we arrive at the foot of the Aiguille Croux, for a vertical climb of level 4+/5 in a magnificent setting. From the summit we descend by the normal route, to find the refuge and then the valley

STEP 4 /

5:00 am - Early departure to reach La Grave where after taking advantage of the gondola we reach the Prommontoire refuge at 3092 m of altitude by the Enfetchores, we spend the night at the refuge.

STEP 5 /

4h00 - Departure for the ascent of the Grand pic de la Meije at 3983m of altitude, we climb the Promontory ridge to continue the traverse to the Doigt de Dieu, descent to the Aigle hut, after a restful break we descend to the valley and return.

In case of late return, possibility of sleeping at the refuge of the Eagle, or in a hotel of the valley
